How Did you get into running: My entire family ran so it was the only thing I could sdo in the evenings started training properly at the age of 17 but was in my first club Ballyskenach at the age of 7. It was a great start to my athletics.

What do you do when your not running: I have a sports shop in Birr Co. Offaly. My sister Geraldine and myself opened the shop in 2001. It has being a great experience and after 6 years were are venturing onto the Web with an Online Sports Store (www.gksports.ie)

Funny incident: Lost my pasport travelling to the Sydney Olympics in 2000 . BBC Television did a piece on airport on it still being played today on uktv Gold . It was a most terifing experiences but a valuable one. And most of my friends remind me now to not for get my passport. Thankfully it did not end in diaster it was in my luggage and was able to travel with the team.
